fantastic roadtripping

downtown Louisville

A big Kentucky hello. I've been here a few days and WOW! It's beautiful. Historic Louisville has these tall old homes that just take you back in time. They are each so distinct. The TREES are what are most amazing to me. The COLORS ~ WOW! Just stunning.

I'm on a sort of "tour" to find local shops to sell Hollyday Cards. It all began when I got invited to a medical missions conference in Louisville and I got all excited about the possibilities of extending the trip, seeing old friends, and marketing cards. Tomorrow & Monday, Sarah Peek is going to show me some Louisville shops. She's quite crafty herself. Can't wait!

I've been 1,000 miles in 4 days and loved every minute in the car. I'm so glad someone invented those Griffin chips for iPod radio transmitting. Genius. It's fuzzy reception when I put it anywhere but here... upside down in the window.

My first stop was the Arkansas visitor center where I was given some maps of artsy districts. I wish I had 3 days just in Arkansas. Little Rock has a great district on Kavanaugh Avenue with specialty shops. I stopped in quite a few, and some by accident. Got some good feedback, sales, and potentials which was encouraging!

Chic Boutique.

The Speckled Frog.

Cynthia East Fabrics.
Loved this place. If you're looking for a great scarf this is the place to go. I accidentally stumbled on it at the bottom of a hill. I'm so glad I did!

Cobblestone and Vine.
BEAUTIFUL interior design & European Gifts shop with a neat selection of cards as well. I could have perused this shop all day long.

Got up early Thursday to depart for Memphis, Nashville, and onto Louisville by 4pm. I forgot that I'd lose an hour by traveling into the Eastern time zone so I didn't get to stop in Franklin or Nashville, and my Memphis stop was short & sweet. Some girls asked me to take their picture and it ended up that they are from Texas, were headed to Kentucky, and even headed to the same conference I was going to! AND they go to a church plant of Antioch (my church) in Belton. God's mad networking skills again.

Brinkley, AR

Immensely enjoyed the 6:30am cool morning air on my way from Little Rock to Memphis! Found this little town called Brinkley when I stopped to get ice, and took a photo tour of the old antique town.

Casey Jones Village & Country Store (and Ice Cream Parlor, yum)

I've had a lot of fun seeing new shops and cities!

I think road trips are fantastically perfect and I'm so excited about this upcoming week in St. Louis, Springfield, Tulsa, and Norman!

Exciting Adventure

I'm headed out tomorrow for Kentucky! The purpose is a medical missions conference but along the way there and back I'll stop in some shops to market cards. It will be a 9-10 day trip.

So excited about this big adventure! Depending on my level of internet access I'll keep you posted. Check back in the next little while!

New Christmas Card Designs

Don't you love it when you turn your house upside down looking for something, simply to find it in the place where it "belongs"?! Surprise, surprise, my camera battery charger was in the camera bag. Nice and snug. :)

Here are a few new designs.

All card packs come assorted unless customer specifies otherwise. If you have preferences when you order your selection, note the card names on your order form. The names of the cards are in captions beneath each photo and also at my online photo album.

My college friends Kristina and Amy, as well as Amy's sister-in-law Hannah came over for a fun card making extravaganza! They helped cut pieces and assemble flowers & brads. I was thrilled with the progress we made and even more thrilled just to be in the same room with them! Friends through thick & thin. We crafted for 4 or 5 hours until midnight and to top it off, we had a slumber party - on a Wednesday!

Thanks ladies!

Here are a couple birthday cards I made this week.

Logo!

Check out Hollyday's new logo!

I doodled this on a post-it note...

My college roommate Amy's sister, Leslie Campbell, digitized it...

She added some defining features to the swirly "what is it?... oh it's a..." red cardinal design...

And finished it up with some COLOR!

Whah-lah!

Thank you Leslie!
